Tell Trump NO

We refuse to sell out Kiwi standards

New Zealand is being backed into a corner

While Donald Trump shuts the door on our exports with massive US tariffs, our Government is scrambling for "Plan B" trade with India and other countries. We want trade, but we won’t accept a desperate deal made at any cost.

The Government claims to "back our farmers," but they are allowing to flood our shelves with low-quality food produced in ways that are ILLEGAL in New Zealand.

Letting in cheap food that’s illegal to produce here isn’t trade – it’s a betrayal of our farmers, animals and us. We want trade, but never at the expense of New Zealand farmers' basic standards for how we treat animals.

Here are the facts:

  • Over 60% of pork sold in New Zealand is imported.

  • Most imported pork comes from the US where they use "sow stalls"—a practice we BANNED in NZ back in 2016 because it was the right thing to do.

  • Kiwi families are being forced to eat substandard food that doesn’t even meet our own minimum requirements.

  • Farmers are being told to compete against imports that have an unfair, illegal advantage

Sign the petition, share it, and raise your voice. Time is ticking.

To: New Zealand Government

To the Government of New Zealand, I demand that you:

  • Enforce equivalence: Reject any trade deal that allows the importation of animal products produced to lower welfare standards than those required of New Zealand farmers.

  • Protect our farmers: Ensure that Kiwi producers are not undercut by cheap imports from countries with poor animal welfare regulations.

  • Keep your promises: Uphold New Zealand’s reputation when it comes to food. Do not sell out our values for a quick trade win.
